Moderate to Heavy Drainage

REF: AW008-A4

Opti-Heal Silicone Foam Adhesive Pad can absorb exudate and hold them within the pad to decrease skin damage to surrounding tissue. The pads are especially suitable for excessively exuding wounds. The perforated silicone wound contact layer prevents the pad from sticking to the wound and reduces pain during pad changes. Absorbent Foam collects exudate and holds it within the pad to decrease skin damage to the surrounding tissue. High perforation rate of the wound contact layer for fast wicking and minimal risk of skin damage. Repositionable and Flexible for easy wound monitoring & comfort during wear. Cut to Size for best fit.

• Gentle – Perforated contact layer doesn’t stick to the wound
• Absorbent – Collects exudate and holds them within the pad
• Repositionable – For easy wound monitoring & comfort during wear
• Fast healing – Creates a moist environment which can help accelerate healing

Suitable for moderate to heavy exudating wounds such as:
• Leg Ulcers
• Diabetic Foot Ulcer
• Pressure Injuries e.g Bedsores
• Abrasion Wounds
• 1st and 2nd Degree Burns
• Donor Sites
• Surgical Wounds

Ensure the pad is the appropriate size for the wound. The pad should be ½ an inch larger than the wound. The pad can be cut to size as required.

  1. Always wash hands before and after treating a wound.
  2. Gently clean and dry the wound and surrounding skin.
  3. Remove the pad from the sterile wrapper.
  4. Remove one portion of the backing films.
  5. Place the dressing centrally over the wound site. Avoid touching the side to be used on the wound.
  6. Remove the remaining backing film and smooth the pad down over the skin.
  7. If stronger hold is required, cover edges with tape or another suitable covering.

Removal

The pad can remain in place for up to 7 days dependent upon wound condition and exudate level.

Examine the wound by carefully lifting a corner of the pad. The pad should be changed when significant signs of exudate are visible or can be seen around the edge of the pad.
