Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
What Is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Carpal Tunnel syndrome occurs where there is increased swelling and inflammation in the carpal tunnel which runs down the front of the forearm just above the wrist. The increased swelling causes increased pressure within the carpal tunnel. When this occurs the median nerve is compressed which causes pins and needles into the hand.

Condition Management
What you should do if you have this condition:
- Consult with your Doctor
- Consult a chartered physical therapist
- Try using a splint for your wrist which can help to reduce the swelling that occurs in the wrist and therefore helps to reduce symptoms.
Your Doctor may offer to inject the carpal tunnel which could cure your symptoms. If this fails they may then refer you onto an orthopaedic surgeon who can surgically release the carpal tunnel.
